Welcome to Kuipers Family Fruit Farm 🍑🍒
Welcome to our third-generation Century Farm in Kelowna, where the Kuipers family has been growing fruit on Barnaby Road for more than 100 years.
Our story began in the 1920s when Marius and Sarie Kuipers immigrated from Holland and established the family orchard. For many years, the farm produced cherries, apricots, peaches, pears, apples, and Italian prunes for both commercial markets and the local community.
The next generation, Richard and Edith Kuipers, continued caring for the farm as it transitioned away from large-scale commercial production. Today, more than a century after the orchard was established, we are continuing that family tradition—planting new trees, renewing the orchard, and welcoming our community and visitors to experience the farm firsthand.
Throughout the summer, we offer U-pick cherries, apricots, peaches, and Italian prune plums, available as each crop reaches the proper stage of ripeness. We grow and harvest according to the natural rhythm of the season, so fruit availability changes throughout the summer.
Our goal is to maintain a diverse, traditional orchard while using fewer pesticide applications than are typically required in intensive commercial fruit production.
Come pick some fruit, enjoy the orchard, and take in the beautiful orchard scenery while experiencing a small piece of Kelowna's agricultural heritage.
Please check this page for the latest harvest updates before visiting, as picking dates and fruit availability depend on ripening conditions.
